Joelle! I have read all your recent posts but life has been so hectic lately and I haven't had have a quiet moment to respond. This post is so touching and I completely understand exactly what you mean and how certain memories stand out. It makes me think of my own childhood memories! My brother is 4 years older than me and my mom would have to drop him off to the high school bus really early (he commuted to a school in south orange county.) Well, that meant I had to come with them because she didn't have time to come home and get me before I had to be at school. So we would go sit in the back bay and eat cheerios and milk she packed in a to-go container and listen to the Gloria Estefan album. I'm not sure why we were on such a Gloria Estefan kick (lol) but I think it energized our mornings! We would take in the back bay view, chat, and munch on breakfast, and even though we were just killing time, she found a way to make it special. Every time I'm at the back bay, I think of our funny little breakfast routine from back in the day.
