Hi friends!
It’s been a weird, long week.
Couple late nights at work, a bug bit me on the throat (!!) and today I took a nap which I never, ever do. But it’s also been good — I got to spend time with some of my favorite people, got to run/walk at the track, and had a lovely mid-week, pre-work breakfast date with a friend. And so, I figured that made it a good day to do something a little different here. Why not, right? No rules.
I’ve read a lot of good stuff recently online, so here are some links to articles I recommend checking out if you have some moments of quiet/time to yourself this weekend or in the coming week:
The Creator of Millennial Pink Regrets Coining That Viral Phrase // Elle
A 63-Year-Old Runner Changed the Way I Think About Regret // New York Times
I'm a Psychiatrist and Even I Kept My Mental Health Meds a Secret // InStyle
On Loving a Company That Doesn't Know How to Love Me Back // Culture Study (interesting one for all my fellow Peloton fans!)
What Makes Anna Wintour So Powerful // So Many Thoughts
How I’m Built // Olivia Muenter (If you’re not already following Olivia, fyi she also has a story-letter newsletter which I really enjoy; this week’s was excellent but it’s not linkable, sadly.)
Yes, You Can Be More Than Your Job Title // Wall Street Journal
Britney Falls in Love // Bustle
Looking for a Well-Behaved Dog? Breed May Not Tell You Much. // Washington Post (…as the proud owner/dog mom to a very lovable pit bull, I feel vindicated.)
No Way to Say Goodbye // New York Times (trigger warning — it’s sad!)
What about you? Read anything good recently? Drop a link for me in the comments please!
++++
Have a great rest of your weekend! You’re doing great.
Thanks for reading,
Joelle
